Nous vous annoncions samedi dernier l'existence d'un certain Sonic and the Black Knight, voici qu'arrive maintenant une annonce officielle concernant le jeu, nous apportant un peu plus de détails."SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON (July 21, 2008) –SEGA of Europe Ltd. and SEGA® of America, Inc. today announced Sonic™ and the Black Knight, an all-new Wii-exclusive adventure. Part of the storybook series of games that began with Sonic and the Secret Rings, this new title brings Sonic into the world of Arthurian legend and offers the worlds most infamous blue hedgehog the chance to become a knight. Using the unique Wii control system, this exciting game will take advantage of both the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk to offer an interactive experience that any Sonic fans will love. Created by Sonic Team in Japan, this innovative game takes Sonic into a medieval world and arms him with a sword to aid in his effort to save the day. Sonic and the Black Knight will provide Sonic fans with an irresistible cast of characters and teach them all what it takes to be a true hero and the ultimate knight. Utilisant la Wiimote et le Nunchuk - contrairement à son prédécesseur qui ne se jouait qu'à la Wiimote -, celui-ci reprendra les légendes Arthuriennes et devrait donc compter son lot d'épées, de chevaliers, de dragons et de châteaux. Enfin, la sortie du titre est prévue pour le printemps 2009 en Europe et aux Etats-Unis.

Sega profite du TGS pour dévoiler un premier trailer de Sonic & The Black Knight, nouvel épisode exclusif à la Wii. Tranchant radicalement avec les univers de ses anciennes aventures, Sonic revisitera dans cet opus la légende du roi Arthur, s'armant même d'une épée pour l'occasion. Evolution bienvenue ou changement ridicule : le débat reste ouvert, et ce pendant encore un peu de temps, puisque Sonic & The Black Knight n'est pas prévu avant l'année prochaine. A noter que, comme l'en atteste le trailer TGS, Jun Senoue et Crush 40, seront de retour pour composer le thème principal. Les amateurs apprécieront.
